Bluefish Captain's House
This historic Duxbury property, built in 1851, was originally the home of George and Caroline Prior–a wealthy mariner family. The design intent of this project was to bring back the interior and exterior of the home to resemble the original construction as authentically as possible–while integrating modern amenities.
We updated the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the entire house. A 2,000 s.f. primary suite was added, connecting the sail loft to the main portion of the home. During construction, a historic photo of the home was discovered, showing a large porch that was no longer present. Using the photo as a visual reference, and our understanding of construction from that period, we built a new porch replicating the original.
