Sand Castle
For this coastal Duxbury home, our client sought to expand their living space while retaining the charm and character of the property. After careful consideration, the client determined that it was best to raze and build new while keeping to the original footprint in order to maintain zoning compliance. This challenged us to get creative–since we couldn’t expand outward, we went vertical to meet the client's architectural program.
We capitalized on the lot grade by utilizing a walk-out basement level, essentially making this a 4-story home. This lower grotto area opens to stunning water views, drawing in light and seamlessly blending into the surrounding landscape and pool area. The home layout allows for common areas where the family can gather, as well as separate areas for reflection and relaxation.
